2019-2020
Natural Fit had decided to build their first two sites at roughly the same time with T Wells being built slightly ahead of Hove. This meant we were super busy developing a concept that had to work both a soulless bank space and a rather soulful church. As well as the health spas we also worked on the Arundel Castle gift shop, I still need to get photos of this site as COVID got in the way at the time so watch this space.

2021-2023
At the end of the second COVID lockdown I was getting divorced had to sell my family home. This meant I moved from my garden studio that I had built in 2018 to an office in the centre of Lewes at the Werks building. This was a time of a lot of thinking and one of the things to come out of the ether was my approach to the Circular Economy and sustainability. Our approach to sustainability makes a great business case by reducing build time on site and increasing adaptability helping our clients develop their spaces more easily over time. We worked on some great projects during this time from a record shop in Hove, to a Burger Restaurant in Leaden Hall Market and a zero waste shop for Winchester University. We also started working with a large chain of bakery / coffee shops converting Jempson Cafe’s into Rye Bakeries.

2024-2025
It is fair to say that 2024 was the quietest year from a work point of view I have ever know. We worked on a kitchen for one of my clients and that went well, then luckily for us the start of 2025 got really busy which meant we could salvage some of the financial losses of the previous months. During 2025 we worked with the first PLC I have worked for since leaving Design LSM. They are a lovely local firm that have a global reach and wanted us to design the interior of a house they we buying to house visiting colleagues. As well as this we spent a lot of 2025 designing the 3rd Health Spa in Maidstone for Natural Fit as well as a second site in Leaden hall Market. These sites are due to open in the next few months so there will be some new sites going on the project page.

2026
So here we are at the present day. Looking back at all of the clients I have helped over the years it is clear to see that there have been a lot of challenges as well as a lot of growth. The part we play in the inception of the spaces we design is significant and how we approach the interior design is often dictated by the needs of the client. Some clients know exactly what they want and just need us to curate and edit their ideas. Others just want to get on with their passion and need us to steer the visual aspects more. Once our clients open the doors we generally don’t here much from them until the next time they are looking to open a site.
