Josephine and Kevin Latouf are a mother and son dream team. They approached us to produce the coffee shop interior design for their joint venture in a village in Hampshire.
Our brief was to help them turn an old wine shop into a stylish, contemporary wine and coffee shop. As their interior designers we helped them through the design process, ensuring the right ambience and layout for the coffee shop, and ensuring all the wine and retail items were displayed clearly.
To do this we positioned the customer seating next to the display shelving, which enabled them to read the wine labels whilst sitting and drinking their coffee. Customers can fully absorb the detailed descriptions on the labels, and get a good understanding of the product. Keen for more, Kevin created Black.White.Red with two of his old friends from school. But that’s another case study.

“We are restaurant owners with experience in the wine trade. Although we hadn’t used an interior designer before, we realized we would need one to achieve the right result. We discovered Engaging Interiors through Google, and found their approach to be both professional and friendly. They had a very clear understanding of what we wanted to achieve. In addition to creatively directing the interior design of the project he introduced us to graphic designers and carpenters he had worked with before. They worked very well together, and produced a strong and cohesive brand. This has played a big part in a very successful first few months, and we are now looking to open a second Josie’s site sometime in the New Year. We will definitely be using Engaging Interior’s services again.”
